Reimbursement through a private health insurance company

Therapeutic massage is a manual therapy that focuses on the musculoskeletal system, including the spine, pelvis, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. Treatment primarily addresses static (postural) and dynamic (e.g., impaired movement patterns) dysfunctions.

Misalignments of the vertebrae and joints can have a wide range of effects on the entire musculoskeletal system as well as on all organs. Accordingly, therapy following a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation is extremely successful.

Most misalignments and complaints in the musculoskeletal system arise from muscle tension and/or weak muscles, which in turn lead to incorrect or compensatory postures (partially or completely blocked joints, painful muscle tension, stiff neck, back pain such as sciatica or lumbago, lower back pain, dizziness and headaches, as well as radiating pain in the arms and legs). These symptoms very often involve the intervertebral discs. If these are subjected to excessive or prolonged stress, very painful herniated discs can occur. The goal of the therapy is to rebuild such stressed discs and restore their stability. In the treatment described above, the entire body's statics, as well as the joints and especially the vertebrae, are brought into proper alignment through specific muscle contractions, which relaxes the muscles and allows the patient to feel freer again. It is a very gentle, non-invasive, yet highly effective method.

During the treatment, the spine is gently stretched using techniques to give the intervertebral discs sufficient space and ensure they are well hydrated. The St. John's wort oil used for this purpose loosens the muscles and relaxes the entire back.

If a doctor's referral for therapeutic massage is provided, the full treatment cost can be reimbursed by a private health insurance company if the policy allows.
